Amargosa Dunes

Amargosa, also known as "Big Dune" is a playground that covers about five square miles of dunes and dips. In the center is a peak that tops about 500 feet. There are no facilities, be certain to bring plenty of food and water.




Blue Mountain

Wallowa Whitman National Forest

Blue Mountain OHV Trail in the Wallowa Whitman National Forest offers over 50 miles of ATV trail. Trail is rated as easy. Restrooms, multiple trailheads, and multiple campgrounds are available.




Carson Ranger District

Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest, Horizon Hills Trail, Red Metal Access, Stead Access, Stead Motortrail Trail

Carson Ranger District in the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest offers a variety of OHV roads and trails. There are eight trailheads and a number of developed campgrounds.




Chief Mountain OHV Area

Chief Mountain OHV Area offers 30 miles of signed ATV trail. There are 3 developed trailheads and an information kiosk as well as a practice loop and picnic tables.




Ely Ranger District Office

The main trail in the Ely Ranger District is the Ranger Trail. Ranger trail is just over 40 miles long, and is joined by smaller trails, ranging from 1-5 miles in length: Brennan Mine Loop, Cathedral Canyon, Ie Plant, Irwin Canyon, Kolcheck Basin, Lowery, Silver Canyon, South Mattier Creek, South Taft Creek, and West Fawn Trails. Camping is available.




Harrison Pass and Corral Creek

Harrison Pass and Corral Creek offers multiple trails at the top of the Harrison Pass for all levels of riding. Summits overlook the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge.




Lake Tahoe East Shore

Lake Tahoe Basin, Genoa Peak Road, Kingsbury Singer, Logan House

Lake Tahoe East Shore offers 18 miles of ATV trails. Trails are rated as intermediate. Camping, RV facilities, and cabin rentals are available.




Logandale Trails System

Logandale Trails System offers 200 miles of multiuse trails open to all types of OHVs and ATVs. Trail types vary from main touring roads to rock crawls. Primitive camping is permitted.




Merritt Mountain

Merritt Mountain Trail is a miles long ATV trail winding from high desert meadow to the mountain peak. The trail is smooth with off camber turns, hill climbs, seasonal stream crossings, rocks and ledges. An information kiosk with maps and GPS information is available.




Mount Wilson Back Country Byway

Mount Wilson Back Country Byway is a 66 mile trail winding through an ancient volcanic caldera. The byway crosses wide basins and narrow canyons.




Mountain City ATV Trail

Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest

Mountain City ATV Trail in the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest offers 30 miles of ATV trail. There are multiple trailheads and camping is available.




Nellis Dunes

Nellis Dunes offers a large open riding area. Terrain is mostly hard pack and dry dirt hills. There are some sand dunes. This is a day use area and becomes very crowded on weekends.




Nelson Hills

Nelson Hills is a large OHV open riding area. There are hill climbs, ATV trails, and canyons. Primitive camping is permitted however there are no services available.




Prison Hill

Prison Hill Recreation Area offers a small OHV loop system. Travel runs through sandy trails and washes. There is one staging area.




Red Rock Canyon

Opal Canyon OHV Trail

Red Rock Canyon State Park offers approximately 30 miles of 4WD back roads running through desert terrain open to ATVs.




Sand Mountain

Sand Mountain Recreation Area offers 4,795 acres of multiuse open recreation area. The area is open to riders, hikers, and sandboarders. Restrooms are available, water is not available. Primitive camping is permitted.




School and Sherman Creek

School and Sherman Creek offers trails open to 4WD and ATVs. 65 miles from Elko provides plenty of wildlife viewing and scenic meadows.




Silver State OHV Trail

Panaca, Pioche, Caliente, Chief Mountain, Stampede, Pahroc Wash, Patterson

Silver State OHV Trail offers 260 miles of signed OHV trail open to ATVs and OHVs. There are four trailheads. Restrooms, picnic shelters, camping, and RV hookups are available.




Stag Mountain

Charleston and Jarbidge

Stag Mountain in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest has milis of riding in the Jarbidge Mountains. This area is very remote. The excursion to Stag Mountain is about 45 miles off of Interstate 80. A trip to Charleston or Jarbidge would require overnight camping.

Tonopah Ranger District

Timber Hill Trail in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest offers 5 miles of OHV trail.




Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park

Ward Charcoal Ovens offers ATV riding on the Ward Legacy Trail. This is a main trail connecting with BLM land. The trail is a smooth easy ride. There are picnic areas and restrooms available, as well as a developed campground and yurt rentals.




Wilson Canyon

Wilson Canyon offers open riding area on hardpack dunes. There are hill climbs and looping trails. Restrooms are available.
