Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area


AOAA offers hundreds of miles of ATV, 4 x 4 vehicle, and dirtbike trails on 6,500 acres. Hunting is permitted prior to 9am.

Bloody Skillet

Bloody Skillet offers 39 miles of summer and winter ATV trails on state forest lands. A connector trail to Snow Shoe Rails to Trails system has been added. Terrain is mostly easy with some challenging side trails.

Burnt Mills

Burnt Mills offers 7 miles of summer and winter trails on state forest land located in the Delaware State Forest.

Dixon R. Miller

The Dixon R. Miller Recreation Area in the Delaware State Forest (previously known as the Pohopoco Tract) offers 13 miles of summer and winter trails.

Four Seasons Resort

Four Seasons Resort offers 35 miles of groomed trails on 800 acres for all skill levels. To ride you must be an overnight guest of the campground or motel. Campground amenities include an Olympic size swimming pool, fishing, and family activities.

Hilltop Lodge

Hilltop Lodge is a unique riding opportunity - you rent the lodge, the track, and the trails. There are 50+ acres of woods trails and a 1.3 mile motocross track included in the rental. The lodge sleeps 20 and is air conditioned. Among many other amenities, the lodge offers a wood burning fireplace, large flat-screen TVs, and a pool table. Rates vary by season and length of stay.

Lost Trails

Lost Trails offers 2000 acres covered with trails with a wide variety of terrains and difficulty levels. Rental ATV tours are also available. Lost Trails opened in their new location in 2011. There is a kids riding area, scenic ridges, rock crawls, and mud runs.

Lycoming County

Lycoming County trail system offers 17 miles of summer and winter trail on state forest land. Trails are located near Haneyville and include the Button Road and a network of wooded trails built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Riding is free, a permit is required. Please check with the forest district to see when trails are open.

Majestic Trails

Majestic Trails offers 41 miles of wooded ATV and dirtbike trails. ATV rentals are available, as well as camping, cabins, and a fishing and boating pond.

Maple Run Tract

With 8 miles of trails on State Forest Land this is a good place for a quick ride.

Martin Hill

Martin Hill offers 18 miles of summer trail on state forest land.

Michaux State Forest

Michaux State Forest, also known as Adams & Cumberland Counties, offers 36 miles of summer trail. During the winter season the trail system is expanded to 42 miles by opening dirt roads which are closed during the summer.

Mines and Meadows ATV Park

Mines and Meadows offers 75 miles of trails on 650 acres. Ride on trails of all skill levels and take an amazing underground ride through the abandoned limestone mines. ATV rentals are available.

Mountain Ridge ATV Trails

Mountain Ridge ATV Trails consists of 2,500 acres of riding area, with access to an additional 500 acres. There are trails for every skill level including rolling hills, extreme rock climbing, mud pits, and challenging uphills. Camping is available.

Potter County

One of the larger DCNR trail systems, Potter County offers 43 miles of summer trail on state forest land located south of Denton Hill State Park.

Rausch Creek Trail Riders

Rauch Creek Trail Riders is a members only riding facility. It offers a sizable property with a number of well marked trails. Camping memberships are also available.

Reading Anthracite

Reading Antrhacite is not an ATV park, but a working coal facility. Special permits to ride on Reading Anthracite land can be purchased online.

Rock Run Recreation

Rock Run Recreation offers 140 miles of trails offering terrific views of the Alleghaney Mountains. ATV rental tours are available. There is primitive and RV camping on site.

Scrubgrass Village

Scrubgrass village offers 60 miles of trails on 1,232 acres of privately owned property. Open seasonally, please call for details and availability.

Sideling Hill

Sideling Hill offers 15 miles of summer trail on state forest land. Located within a short drive of Martin Hill, both trails can be comfortably ridden in one day.

Slippery Rock Dunes Outdoor Park

Slippery Rocks is primarily a camping resort with 4 miles of ATV trails, mud pits, hill climbs, a kids track, and a large sand area. Camping and fishing boat rentals are available. There are periodic events and concerts.

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails (SSRT)

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails (SSRT) offers 19 miles of abandoned railroad bed which is used as multi-use trails, as well as 20 miles of legal Snow Shoe Township roads. Additionally, SSRT connects with the DCNR trail Bloody Skillet. When Bloody Skillet is open, there is a total of 80 miles of trail available to ride on. SSRT requires a permit to ride which can take up to 10 days by mail or which can be purchased from local retailers on the day of your ride.

Snyder & Union Counties

Snyder and Union Counties offers 7 miles of summer and winter trails on state forest land. The trail includes the East Kettle Road which has been closed to other types of motor vehicles.
